After completing a rigorous internship in small animal internal medicine and surgery at VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital, Dr. Lenberg spent nearly 11 years as an associate before opening her own clinic with fellow CSU alum Dr. Cindy Barnes. She focuses on client education and exceptional patient care, with special interests in nutrition, internal medicine, neurology, and emergency medicine.
In her free time, Dr. Lenberg loves cooking, acrylic painting, traveling, and enjoying cozy moments with her cat and two doodles.
With a rich background that includes 15 years as a veterinary nurse and volunteer work in underserved communities, Dr. Barnes has always prioritized global veterinary improvement. Recognizing the emotional challenges faced by veterinarians, including high rates of suicide and burnout, Dr. Barnes set out to transform practice management software, which she identified as a significant source of stress. In 2016, she launched Shepherd, a cloud-based solution designed to address these challenges and modernize veterinary practices.
Dr. Barnes is dedicated to fostering a supportive environment for veterinary professionals and is committed to leading change in the industry. Her vision not only enhances veterinary care but also aims to alleviate the burdens on those who dedicate their lives to it, making her a true leader in veterinary medicine.
After graduating, Dr. Egar completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at a busy emergency and referral practice in Phoenix, Arizona. He has developed expertise in emergency medicine, orthopedic surgery, and trauma care, building on his background as a firefighter/medic. Dr. Egar has participated in the veterinary response to major disasters, including the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami and Hurricane Katrina, and has spoken at national humane and disaster conferences, as well as multiple veterinary schools. He is also an accredited instructor for the Veterinary Tactical Group, teaching prehospital trauma care for working dogs.
In his personal time, Dr. Egar enjoys life with his five Belgian Malinois and a Dachshund, often spending weekends exploring the Arizona forests with his family and dogs.
