Meet the Team
Dr. Jamie Lenberg
Dr. Jamie Lenberg, originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, is a dedicated veterinarian with a passion for animal care and community service. She earned her veterinary degree from Colorado State University, where she worked as an emergency veterinary technician and engaged in spay and neuter programs in underserved rural areas. Her research on canine parvovirus was published in the Journal of the American Animal Hospital Association (JAAHA).
After completing a rigorous internship in small animal internal medicine and surgery at VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital, Dr. Lenberg spent nearly 11 years as an associate before opening her own clinic with fellow CSU alum Dr. Cindy Barnes. She focuses on client education and exceptional patient care, with special interests in nutrition, internal medicine, neurology, and emergency medicine.
In her free time, Dr. Lenberg loves cooking, acrylic painting, traveling, and enjoying cozy moments with her cat and two doodles.
Dr. Cindy Barnes
Dr. Cindy Barnes is a trailblazer in the veterinary field, combining her extensive experience as a veterinarian to drive innovation and improve the lives of pets, their owners, and veterinary professionals. As the founder of Shepherd Veterinary Software and the first 24/7 emergency animal hospital in Northern Arizona, Dr. Barnes understands that true progress in the industry stems from strong connections and a commitment to the human-animal bond.
With a rich background that includes 15 years as a veterinary nurse and volunteer work in underserved communities, Dr. Barnes has always prioritized global veterinary improvement. Recognizing the emotional challenges faced by veterinarians, including high rates of suicide and burnout, Dr. Barnes set out to transform practice management software, which she identified as a significant source of stress. In 2016, she launched Shepherd, a cloud-based solution designed to address these challenges and modernize veterinary practices.
Dr. Barnes is dedicated to fostering a supportive environment for veterinary professionals and is committed to leading change in the industry. Her vision not only enhances veterinary care but also aims to alleviate the burdens on those who dedicate their lives to it, making her a true leader in veterinary medicine.
